In the opening of the 2015 National Convention of Industrialists, the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal said that today we live in a momentum called "a renaissance of the manufacturing in North America" which converge the key elements for a new start of the industry in this region of the world.

In the presence of members of the National Chamber of the Manufacturing Industry (CANACINTRA), chaired by Rodrigo Alpízar Vallejo, the Head of Economy added that, in the case of Mexico, it has the advantage that thanks to the technology and the research there is new energy sources with oil and gas to one third; in the case of the latter, the cost in Asia or Europe. This gives a natural competitive advantage to the manufacturing sector, where its phase of chain in petrochemical, textile, plastic or cement, are essential elements for the integration of competition.

He also added that "another key element is the demographic bonus, in which Mexico, unlike other countries, will increase by 32 percent the population of working age, plus the impact of the educational reform on the human talent from the industry and manufacturing sectors of Mexico".

“A third element”, he said, "is related to research and development, which takes place a framework for collaboration between Mexican business and research institutions to provide new ways to make market and products and compete successfully in the world".

The Secretary Ildefonso Guajardo invited the industrialists to continue the dialogue that President Enrique Peña Nieto invited from the beginning of his administration. "Sometimes we have differences, but are solved through dialogue". The most important thing is to find the matches so we all together can build the possibilities this great country has for the welfare of impresarios, workers and families", he said.

The event was attended by Miguel Ángel Margain, Director General of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI); Jorge Cantú, General Coordinator of Federal Delegations of the Secretariat of Economy (SE); and Alejandra Palacios Prieto, Head of the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE), among others.
