In the framework of the "Mexico-France" Economic Forum, held during the state visit of the President of the Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, to France, it was held the signature of ten agreements between various Mexican and French authorities, in order to do joint some works in favor of of both nations.

Among the agreements, it stands out that was held between the Secretariat of Economy, through the National Institute of the Entrepreneur (INADEM, by its initials in Spanish), represented by its President, Enrique Jacob Rocha and the Business France, represented by its Director General, Muriel Pénicaud.

With the signing of this agreement, the parties created the Mexico-France Council on Entrepreneurship and Innovation (COMFEI, in Spanish), which will focus its actions in three areas: "Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategic Sectors".

This council will be made up of three subcommittees which will aim to identify the set of public and private instruments at the service of innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic sectors in Mexico and France.

Through the Innovation Subcommittee, it will be promoted and supported the creation of a Franco-Mexican Center for Innovation and Research oriented to the strategic sectors of energy, transport, new technologies, biotechnology, creative industries and numerical; as well as innovative tourism.

On behalf of Mexico, apart from INADEM, other members of the Council such as the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE); PROMÉXICO; the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT); and the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE, the three acronyms in Spanish); and by France, Bpi France; the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Digital; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development; and the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research will also participate.

Enrique Jacob said that this agreement will empower the internationalization of the Mexican Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in France and this will also increase the prospecting and receiving investments between the two countries.

 

Later, Enrique Jacob Rocha participated in the Bilateral Business Summit Münich 2015, held in Germany. During his participation, he talked about the integration of small and médium-sized enterprises to the global value chains.
