In the presence of the President of the Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, the Bafar Group announced a new complex in its plant in La Piedad, Michoacán, which will generate 12 thousand direct jobs. At the ceremony, the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, said that the investment of Bafar "makes clear that the Mexican agribusiness is at par with the most dynamic sectors in the world and that certainly achieve a great contribution to the national development". He affirmed that Mexico is one of the most competitive platforms for the agribusiness companies; and that our country is the ninth largest consumer of processed foods in the world.

They were present, among others, the head of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA, by its initials in Spanish), Enrique Martínez and Martínez; the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Eugenio Baeza Fares; and the governors of Michoacán and Chihuahua, Salvador Jara Guerrero; and Cesar Duarte Jáquez, respectively. The Bafar Group is one of the major Mexican food companies and has over 28 years of experience in the development, distribution and marketing of cold meats.
