The Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, headed the First Regular Session 2015 of the Consultative Council of the National Institute of the Entrepreneur (INADEM), which has, among its main functions, advising this institution in the formulation and implementation of strategies to support entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as recommend actions to improve policies, programs and discuss various issues related to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Secretary of Economy said that, from an analysis of what has been achieved so far, it is possible to work on the design of innovative policies to promote the sector.

He reported that activities between Nacional Financiera (NAFIN, in Spanish), ProMéxico, INADEM, and the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT, in Spanish) are underway to boost the productive potential within the country and generate significant changes.

For his part, Enrique Jacob Rocha, President of INADEM, in his role as Technical Secretary of this Committee, presented a detailed analysis of the results obtained during the fiscal year 2014, and he also presented the progress of this year.

"To date, there have been 16 opened and closed calls from the Entrepreneur National Fund, receiving 10, 346 projects that are being tested", he said.

During this session, he announced that, as part of the impetus for the entrepreneurial culture, the Week of the Entrepreneur will be held from 5 to 9 October; It was also highlighted the sharing of Mexico, through the INADEM, as co-organizer of the Startup Nations Summit 2015, one of the most important international events of entrepreneurship, held for the first time in Latin America.

This first session included the participation of María del Rocío Ruiz Chávez, Secretary of Competitiveness and Regulations; Francisco de Rosenzweig, Undersecretary of Foreign Trade; Octavio Rangel Frausto, Principal Officer of the Secretariat of Economy; Andrés Alejandro Pérez Frías, Head of the Legal Affairs Unit; Enrique Abedrop Rodríguez, Head of the Unit of Internal Control; Enrique Solana Sentíes, National President of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce (CONCANACO, in Spanish); Rodrigo Alpizar Vallejo, President of the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (CANACINTRA, in Spanish); Mónica González García, representative of the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDECO, in Spanish) of Tamaulipas and President of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development, A.C. (AMSDE, in Spanish); Veronica Orendain, Director General of Heavy Industries and High Technology of the Undersecretariat of Industry and Commerce, of the Secretariat of Economy; Jaime Valls Esponda, Executive Secretary General of the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES, in Spanish); and Ana María Sánchez Sánchez, National President of the National Association of Women Entrepreneurs, A.C. (AMMJE, in Spanish).
