Presidents of Mexico and the United States Enrique Peña Nieto and Barack Obama engaged in a telephone call today in which they recognized the progress made in both countries as a result of the bilateral relationship, such as economic issues, combating organized crime, migration and strengthening the rule of law for the benefit of both societies.

The Mexican president thanked President Obama for being a great friend and ally of Mexico’s, as well as a committed partner.

For his part, President Obama stressed how much the United States values and depends on the relationship and collaboration with Mexico.

The two leaders expressed their confidence in the bilateral institutional cooperation mechanisms of the two countries during a telephone conversation.
