The 25th Meeting of Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum is currently being held in Da Nang, Vietnam on the theme: “Creating a new dynamism, promoting a shared future”.
The president met with his counterparts, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe; Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong.
He conversed with Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull, and President of China Xi Jinping.
- The heads of state discussed bilateral cooperation, trade and investment, as well as certain regional issues.
The president attended a dialogue of APEC Leaders with the members of the Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
- The importance of continuing to promote initiatives regarding regional economic integration, free trade, connectivity, MSMEs and entrepreneurship, circular economy or sustainable, and finance was discussed.
The president also held a working meeting with David Cunningham, President and CEO of FedEx Express.
He participated in an APEC Leaders’ meeting with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
- The president highlighted the work undertaken by this bloc with the Pacific Alliance on economic cooperation, education, innovation, science and technology, and sustainable development.
