The meeting was held during the premier's visit to our country to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the General Delegation of Quebec in Mexico.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), associated with various Mexican Afores, will invest $2 .1 billion USD in infrastructure in the country over the next five years.
During the meeting, they also discussed opportunities for cooperation not only in trade but also in the economic, cultural, innovation, climate change and environmental sphere as well as energy.
Quebec has extensive experience in this field, since it is the province with the fourth largest electrical energy production generated by hydroelectric plants worldwide and Hydro Quebec will share these good practices with the Federal Electricity Commission.
Finally, the Premier invited President Enrique Peña Nieto to visit Quebec, to which the latter replied that he will do so during his upcoming visit to Canada.
