Today I accompanied the National Agricultural Council during its Thirty-Second Ordinary General Assembly.

At the event, I congratulated the winners of the National Agrifood Award 2015, who are a reflection of a resolutely advancing field.

Since the beginning of this administration, we have worked shoulder to shoulder to transform and reposition the Mexican countryside, as an engine of regional and national development.

With this vision, we have promoted a sweeping change: shifting from a welfare policy, based exclusively on subsidies for the countryside, to one based on incentives to raise productivity and democratize food productivity.

With the measures implemented; with increasing openness to the world and with the initiative and innovation of the men and women in our food industry today, there are not only more domestic foods on Mexicans’ tables but also more Mexican products in the rest of the world.
