If you are a Mexican, U.S. or Canadian citizen (belonging to the Global Entry and NEXUS Programs) or a permanent resident in Mexico of U.S. or Canadian nationality, the National Institute of Migration (INM) has introduced a procedure that allows you to enter Mexico quickly and easily through automated kiosks located in internment rooms of participating airports, where you can have your passport scanned, provide your fingerprints and fill out the Immigration Form, which will considerably reduce your waiting time when entering Mexico.

To become a member of Viajero Confiable it is necessary to:

  • Fill in the online application.
  • Once the application has been completed, you must go to the INM office at the participating airport of your choice.

No minimum age is required to apply for membership.

Applicants must submit:

  • A valid passport (valid for at least six months prior to the date of expiry).
  • A signed printed/paper application.

If you are a foreigner, you must submit:

  • A Multiple Immigration Form and
  • A Permanent Resident Card for Mexico (if applicable)

If false information is provided in the application that conflicts with the membership interview, or if there is a negative history in legal, immigration, customs or animal and plant health areas, the member application to Viajero Confiable will be rejected.

During the interview, a Federal Immigration Officer takes a photograph of you, records your biometric information (takes your fingerprints) and verifies the validity of the information you provide. You must wait for a positive result before becoming a member of Viajero Confiable. The membership is valid for five years.

During your stay:

If you are a foreigner, the automated kiosk will issue you the Multiple Immigration Form giving you the sojourn or stay status of a Visitor Without Permission to Carry on Remunerated Activities, with permission for a maximum temporary stay of 180 days, which guarantees your legal status on Mexican national territory and, in the case of permanent residents in Mexico, you will be issued you the Multiple Immigration Form for statistical purposes. You can enter individually, in groups or with your family, as long as they are registered in Viajero Confiable. You can enter individually, in groups or with your family, as long as they are registered in Viajero Confiable.

Members have their passport scanned, give their fingerprints and enter the data requested to obtain the Multiple Immigration Form.
