The Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development organized by the Foreign Ministry in coordination with the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) got underway this afternoon in the National Palace.

Work began after the forum’s inauguration, which was led by President Enrique Peña Nieto in the National Palace.

During the sessions, the 33 participating delegations adopted the agenda for the meeting and ECLAC Executive Secretary Alicia Bárcena delivered the annual report on the region’s progress with and challenges to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

There was also a dialogue on the contribution of ECLAC’s subsidiary bodies to the 2030 Agenda, and a number of reports were presented on the progress that has been made in implementing the Agenda in the region.
