The Mexican government congratulates the people and government of Venezuela for the legislative elections

On behalf of the Mexican government, the Foreign Ministry congratulates the people and government of Venezuela for the legislative elections held on Sunday December 6 to renew the National Assembly beginning in January 2016.

It also applauds the people and the Venezuelan government for a peaceful election day characterized by broad citizen participation. The results strengthen the democratic vocation of the region.

 The Mexican government reiterates its desire to continue strengthening the friendship and cooperation that have united it historically with Venezuela, a country with which it will celebrate the 185th anniversary of bilateral relations next year.
