Each year, Mexico’s Ambassadors and Consuls abroad meet to discuss the most important issues of our domestic politics and economy, as well as our challenges and the progress we have made.

The principal goal of the meeting, chaired by Foreign Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu, is to define the foreign policy guidelines of the federal government for the year ahead, as well as its priorities for making Mexico an actor with global responsibility.

This year, the Secretaries of the Interior, Finance, Education, Economy and Tourism will attend the meeting, in addition to the heads of Banobras, ProMéxico, CFE, INAI and spokesperson of the federal government.

Alec Ross will give a talk on digital diplomacy. Richard Haass, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, is another speaker.

The meeting is being held for the 27th time this year; it will take place in the Foreign Ministry from January 4 – 8.
