The Foreign Ministry hosted
the award ceremony for the Migrant
Woman, Tell Me Your Story contest, organized by @GobMX through the
National Institute for Women
(INMUJERES). The awards ceremony was led by Foreign Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu and INMUJERES President Lorena Cruz Sánchez.
The contest is held to raise awareness of the conditions, problems and success stories of women migrants. It also seeks to promote their participation by asking how they would solve their specific problems.
This year, the contest was open for Mexican women living abroad and for foreign women living in Mexico. 345 entries from women living in 46 countries on 5 continents were received.
