President Enrique Peña Nieto met with Texas Governor Greg Abbott while in Houston to strengthen Mexico’s bonds of friendship and cooperation with Texas. The President was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Ruiz Massieu, Undersecretary Pérez Verdía and Ambassador Basáñez at the meeting.
President Peña Nieto and the Secretaries of Foreign Affairs, Finance and Energy then met with senior officials from Information Handling Services (IHS) and attended a luncheon with the IHS CERAWeek leaders.
To conclude the visit, President Peña received the IHS CERAWeek Global Energy Lifetime Achievement Award at the 35th CERAWeek 2016 Energy Conference. Energy experts felt the president deserved the award for bringing together the country’s political forces to transform the energy sector.
