Since its inception in July 2013, the CIAM has handled more than 193,000 calls from Mexican citizens. In 2015, the Mexican consulate in Tucson ranked first nationwide in the number of cases of protection it had handled: more than 21,000 Mexicans were assisted.
Foreign Secretary Claudia Ruiz Massieu said that the Mexican government is committed to providing more and better services to the community and to working to ensure their empowerment and integration into their communities.
