Foreign Secretary Luis Videgaray met today with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy today in Madrid, Spain.

Prime Minister Rajoy and Foreign Secretary Luis Videgaray stressed the importance of the Mexico-Spain Binational Commission, which reaffirms the excellent state of the bilateral relationship and the shared interest in maintaining an ongoing high-level dialogue.

Foreign Secretary Videgaray applauded the continuing political dialogue, the dynamic economic exchanges and the cooperation between both countries, all of which give substance to the Mexico-Spain strategic partnership.  

Prime Minister Rajoy and Foreign Secretary Videgaray agreed that the 40th-anniversary celebration of diplomatic relations is an excellent opportunity to give impetus to and guide the wide-ranging agenda shared by Mexico and Spain.

Spain is Mexico’s second largest trading partner in the European Union, and our second most important investor worldwide and the most important among the EU member States.
