Today, on Father's Day, we want to remind you that the National Program for Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination against Women (PROIGUALDAD 2013-2018) sets forth steps to take to achieve equality between women and men in federal agencies.

These measures include promoting paternity leave for childcare, publicizing the right to these paternity leaves and reminding men of their domestic responsibilities.

The Foreign Ministry has a paternity leave agreement so that fathers of newborns or adopted infants can take part in their care without conditions, limitations or restrictions.

More information on how to apply for paternity leave is available at the Foreign Ministry’s Directorate General for the Foreign Service and Human Resources and at the Unit for Gender Equality Policy.
