José Antonio Meade, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, and Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, Secretary of Economy, chaired the XIII Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Pacific Alliance, same that was attended by their counterparts from Chile, Colombia and Peru.

The Alliance ministers reviewed the progress of the mechanism and the agenda driven by the pro tempore presidency of Mexico.

With respect of the work with the observer countries, they were presented the advancements on various projects that have been made in the areas of innovation, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and cooperation, among others.

The Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade submitted to the Council of Ministers, the results of its meeting held on 29April, 2015, chaired by the Undersecretary for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE, by its initials in Spanish), Vanessa Rubio Márquez, and the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade of the Secretariat of Economy, Francisco de Rosenzweig Mendialdua.

It was also reviewed the state of preparations for the Tenth Summit of the Pacific Alliance, to be held on 3 July, 2015, in Urubamba, Peru. In addition, the details of the ministerial meetings of the Alliance to be held in the framework of the Latin American World Economic Forum, from 6 to May 8 (WEF LATAM), to be held in the Riviera Maya, were shared.

The Pacific Alliance is a regional integration initiative comprised by Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. It represents 50% of the trade in Latin America and involves 216 million of potential consumers.
