Before the President of the Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, the Grupo Modelo company made an announcement of investment in the municipality of Hunucmá, Yucatán, for the construction of a production plant for aluminum cans. The event was attended by the directors of the brewery company, Ricardo Tadeu, María Asunción Aramburuzabala and Valentín Díez Morodo; the Secretaries of Economy (SE), of Foreign Affairs (SRE), of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), and Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA; all of them by its acronyms in Spanish), Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, José Antonio Meade, Luis Videgaray and Enrique Martinez, respectively; and the Governor of the state, Rolando Zapata Bello. The Head of the Secretariat of Economy said that Mexico exported last year two billion liters of beer, equivalent to more than a thousand 600 million dollars. "It certainly is a brand that we will overcome thanks to the trust that investors continue to place on the domestic beer industry," he said.
