In the framework of the participation of the President of the Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, in the 70th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, held various meetings in New York City.

As part of his first day of activities, the head of the Secretariat of Economy attended the forum "Opportunities of Investment in the countries of the Pacific Alliance," organized by the Financial Times and El Dorado Investments.

The event was attended by the Presidents of the four countries of the Pacific Alliance, who they discussed, among other topics, the challenges that emerging markets have to face in the current international economic scenario and the business opportunities offered by the members of the Alliance to investors.

On the second day, the Secretary Guajardo Villarreal, accompanied by the Ministers of Trade and Finance of Chile, Colombia and Peru, led the Bell Ringing on the Stock Exchange of New York.

Subsequently, the Secretary participated in the panel "Trade Integration of the Pacific Alliance", in which he exhibited before 200 senior business people, the importance of promoting trade among the four countries that are part of this initiative; the challenge facing the Alliance to be inserted in the global production chains; and the works are done to achieve these objectives.

The Secretary Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal also held meetings with businessmen, with whom he shared the benefits of the reforms undertaken by Mexico during the administration of President Enrique Peña Nieto, the favorable business environment that prevails in Mexico and the advantages the country offers to investors.
