To promote the health of the population it is necessary to build a feeding strategy that understands the social determinants of health.

This strategy proposes a change in the structure of the planetary diet: half of it based on vegetables and fruits, followed by between 20 and 25 percent of consumption of whole grains; proteins preferably of vegetable origin through legumes and oilseeds, very small amounts of tubers high in starches and fats, and a restriction in the consumption of sugar.

Currently, a problem to solve is to reduce hunger in the world, since there are 155 million children undernourished, two billion adults are overweight and 88 percent of the countries of the planet present bad forms of excess nutrition or nutrient deficiency.

Therefore, a new culture in nutritional health should be promoted, which privileges the provision of food throughout the country, through a productive, competitive, inclusive and sustainable system.

Likewise, a synergy should be established in public policies that allow us to have a fair, healthy and sustainable agri-food system, as a basis for an enriched diet to prevent chronic metabolic diseases.

On the other hand, the support programs of the Government of Mexico, implemented through the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER), have the objective of strengthening sustainable food systems, with international cooperation, to ensure investment in infrastructure and the technology needed to improve agricultural productivity.
