IT IS IMPORTANT to avoid the use of containers destined to potable water for storage of gasoline and / or diesel, because even when they are washed, they can cause severe damages to health.
If you fill a container in which you usually store water with gasoline or another hydrocarbon, mark it permanently, so that it does not get confused and, preferably, destroy it once its mission is finished, or in its defect, deliver it to collection centers authorized by the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT).
Symptoms that appear after oral exposure to gasoline and / or diesel are: drowsiness, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, weakness, seizures, and even coma. In the presence of these damages to health, go immediately to the nearest health unit.
In accordance with Official Standard Norm NOM-201-SSA1-2002, Products and Services, Water and Ice for Human Consumption, Packaged and Bulk and referring for Sanitary specifications, the containers that contained toxic substances can not be used again for water, therefore, they will not be received by the establishments of the vital liquid.
