Gen. Uribe Toledo Sibaja, Commander of the XI Military Region said that the 12th Regiment’s new facilties constitute another step to fulfill President Peña Nieto’s instructions, “To achieve a Mexico at peace.”
The new facilities, he said, extend the presence and operational and logistical capacities of the army in the parts of the country where they are most needed, reducing the response times to any contingency. “Rest assured that the troops that are here today will fulfill their missions with absolute dedication and professionalism, and great respect for citizens’ fundamental rights,” he said.
He declared that joint work and the sum of wills between the three levels of government, society and the armed forces, is the route, "To overcome the great challenges faced. He said that joint work, “Is already yielding tangible results in other parts of the country, reducing the crimes that cause the greatest harm to society, such as murder, extortion, robbery with violence and kidnapping”.
Gen. Uribe Toledo added that the various missions the 12th Regiment will undertake will also benefit the municipalities of Allende, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jimenez, Juarez, Nava and Villa Unión, where it will maintain a presence.
