  • In recent years, relations between Jordan and Mexico have intensified, which is reflected in the contact between King Abdullah II and President Peña Nieto: Ambassador Jorge Álvarez Fuentes.

Within the framework of the friendship and cooperation between the peoples and governments of Mexico and Jordan, the Presidential General Staff (EMP), today received a highly specialized ambulance donated by King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein.

On behalf of President Enrique Peña Nieto, General Coordinator of Administration of the President’s Office Carlos Alberto Ramirez Velasco said that the donation is a clear example that, “Despite the physical distance and oceans that separate us, there is a genuine closeness and a harmonious relationship between the peoples of Jordan and Mexico”.

He recalled that during the King of Jordan’s visit to Mexico in February 2014, he pledged to donate this ambulance. Carlos Ramirez Velasco expressed his confidence that the two governments would continue to work together to benefit both societies.

“We are grateful for this deference, but especially for the tokens of esteem of His Majesty, not only to President Enrique Peña Nieto, but to all the people of Mexico,” declared Velasco Ramírez.

Jordanian ambassador Ibrahim Obeidat said that the gift is a reflection of King Abdullah II’s interest in Mexico, as well as the ties of friendship he has with President Enrique Peña Nieto.

He said that this ambulance is the result of the work and effort his country has made to advance its industry and production, as in the development of vehicles.

DONATION OF AMBULANCE ANOTHER SIGN OF THE AFFECTION AND FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN JORDAN AND MEXICO: JORGE ÁLVAREZ FUENTES

Director General for Africa and the Middle East of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Jorge Alvarez Fuentes said that the donation of the ambulance to EMP is a further sign of the affection and friendship between Jordan and Mexico. “It has a very special significance. Above all, in terms of the warmth between our two countries”.

He noted that in recent years, the bilateral relationship has strengthened, which is reflected in the contact between King Abdullah II and President Peña Nieto; "They have often exchanged views, opinions and perspectives on the changes in the world and, above all, the transformation and reforms both leaders have undertaken in recent years.

Ambassador Álvarez Fuentes said that in the King of Jordan, the Mexican president has an important interlocutor for promoting a policy of rapprochement with the Arab countries.

"They say that friendship is proved by actions. Today we have witnessed the generosity of His Majesty the King and the bond between the two leaders; the strengthening of our relations at the government level, but also between the Mexican and Jordanian people is evident today,” he said.

Administrative Deputy Chief of the Presidential Staff, Brigadier General Marco Antonio Hernández Chávez said that this kind of solidarity actions make nations that are geographically distant, “Strengthen the ties that, I'm sure, Mexico and Jordan will continue to reinforce day by day”.

On behalf of the Chief of the Presidential Staff, Major General Roberto Francisco Miranda Moreno, he thanked King Abdullah II for the donation of the high-tech ambulance , and President Enrique Peña Nieto for assigning the vehicle to this institution, which will be used in the activities of its Hospital Center.

"Not only will it help us to fulfill our mission, which is to safeguard the integrity of the Mexican president and his family, but it will extend this benefit to all members of the Presidential General Staff and their dependents,” General Hernández Chávez.

The specialized ambulance donated today by the King of Jordan is designed for the multiple transfer of patients, and is equipped with oxygen tanks, defibrillators, a sphygmomanometer, aspirators, oxygen tanks, stretchers, extraction vests and semi-rigid splints for the extremities.
