With the coordinated work, willingness and good will of the government of the State of Puebla and its governor, we will soon be able to deal with the emergency and those who were affected, he said.
He thanked all the areas of government, both federal and state, which have been involved, formed a team and worked together to care for those affected.
In particular, he thanked the Armed Forces, which, through the DN-III Plan and the Navy Plan, immediately arrive in the areas affected to provide assistance to the population.
President Enrique Peña Nieto today visited the municipality of Huauchinango, Puebla, which suffered the effects of Hurricane Earl and Tropical Storm Javier, where he saw the actions already being undertaken by various government agencies in coordination with the state authorities to restore normal conditions as soon as possible.
Before his arrival, the president flew over the affected area.
After listening to the reports on the effects and actions carried out in this state, the president instructed the heads of the various departments of the government to speed up the reconstruction process, in coordination with the government of Puebla.
Stating that Puebla was the state most severely affected by Earl and Javier, he asked the heads of the government agencies to act on three fronts:
1) To assist the families affected to enable them to return to their everyday activities as soon as possible. He said that support, temporary jobs and food parcels are already being provided through the Social Development Secretariat, “So that people can return to their normal living conditions. He stressed that these supports are in addition to those provided by the State Government.
2) Support the reconstruction of homes that were partially or totally affected. He requested the support of municipal and state governments in locating land to build new homes outside risk areas. He asked the Civil Protection department to locate areas where homes can no longer be rebuilt because of the danger, in order to relocate families that used to live there to safer areas; and
3) Expedite the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure. He said that resources from the Natural Disaster Fund (FONDEN) will be used to undertake reconstruction work.

“We must form a common front in a very pragmatic, resolute and determined way. I think that we can work, and we are already doing so in a very coordinated way. I simply urge you to do so as quickly as possible in order to restore the population to normal conditions as soon as possible, “ he said.
”I have always been against taking political advantage of human tragedy, and I think that no-one should try to gain political advantage from this event,” he said.

Before leading the evaluation meeting, the President spoke with residents of Huauchinango, who requested his support.
President Peña Nieto said that among those who were affected, he saw, “Faces of sadness because of the damage, but also of hope because we are able to provide a timely response to the damage caused by this natural disaster”.
The Federal Executive also visited one of the shelters set up in this town, where he also spoke to those who have suffered the effects of Earl and Javier.
