These views were expressed by President Enrique Peña Nieto, when he participated for the fourth time in the Molino del Rey Race organized by the Presidential General Staff, completing 10 kilometers in 53 minutes and 10 seconds.
At the end of this race, the sixth edition of which was held today, the president, accompanied by his daughter, Paulina Peña Pretelini, congratulated all the participants, particularly General Roberto Miranda Moreno, Head of the Presidential General Staff, and his team for organizing this sports event.
He expressed, “Great respect and affection for all the families gathered here today who have participated in this race” and declared: “We’ll meet again at the next edition, the 7th Edition. I hope to have a fifth opportunity to run with you.”
The president explained that members of the Presidential General Staff are tasked with ensuring the security of the president and his family, for whom they are responsible, in addition to the directors of various Mexican state institutions, and protecting the government’s strategic areas, “Which ennobles the work of the Presidential General Staff”.
After completing the race, held in the 1st section of Chapultepec Forest, President Peña Nieto received an award and a medal from General Roberto Miranda Moreno, Chief of the Presidential Staff.
The president presented prizes to the winners of the five and ten kilometer races, and awards to the public servants and individuals who participated in this 6th edition: Paulina Peña Pretelini; Claudia Ruiz Massieu, Secretary of Foreign Affairs; Enrique de la Madrid Cordero, Secretary of Tourism; Rafael Pacchiano Alamán, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources; Renato Sales Heredia, National Security Commissioner; Mikel Arriola Peñalosa, Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute; Alfredo Castillo Cervantes, Director General of the National Sports Commission; Xochitl Gálvez, head of the borough of Miguel Hidalgo, and Héctor Slim Seade, Director General of Telmex.
He also congratulated members of the President’s Office who took part in the race: Alejandra Lagunes Soto Ruiz, National Digital Strategy Coordinator; Francisco Guzmán Ortiz, Head of the President’s Office; Carlos Perez Verdia, Coordinator of Advisors; Andrés Massieu Fernández, General Coordinator of Politics and Government; Eduardo Sánchez Hernández, General Coordinator of Social Communication of the President’s Office and Government Spokesperson, and Héctor González Escobar, Director General of Social Communication Information.
He also congratulated retired generals and former heads of the Presidential General Staff Arturo Cardona Marino, Roberto Miranda Sánchez and Jesús Castillo Cabrera.
