President Enrique Peña Nieto met today at the official residence of Los Pinos with David Farr, CEO of Emerson Electric, with whom he discussed the expectations of growth for the Mexican economy since the government’s implementation of structural reforms.

The CEO of Emerson Electric CEO congratulated the president on his promotion of the reforms and highlighted the company’s interest in investing in the Mexican energy sector, particularly in pipeline infrastructure.

He told President Enrique Peña Nieto that Emerson Electric is interested in contributing to expanding the energy infrastructure in Mexico, to meet future demand, through the automation of pipeline processes.

Its interest, he said, is due to the fact that demand for natural gas in Mexico will increase by 3.6 percent annually during the current administration and until 2028.

The company, with more than 60 years in Mexico, plans to install two new plants in our country and currently employs 15,000 people. 

President Enrique Peña Nieto welcomed the plans of Emerson Electric to expand its presence in the country, and hoped that as a result, the company will help Mexicans gain access better welfare conditions, the main objective of his government’s reforms.

During the meeting, the president was accompanied by Francisco Guzmán Ortiz, head of the President’s Office, and Andrés Massieu Fernández, General Coordinator of Politics and Government of the President’s Office.
