· The president led a meeting with members of his Cabinet and the governors of the states which the Pope will visit.

Earlier  today, at the official residence of Los Pinos, the president met with members of his Cabinet and the governors of the states His Holiness Pope Francis will visit.

The president supervised the security, logistics, coordination and protocol measures adopted in preparation for the visit to be held from February 12-17.

At the meeting, President Peña Nieto thanked the Governors of Chiapas, Manuel Velasco Coello; Chihuahua, César Duarte Jáquez; Mexico State, Eruviel Ávila Villegas; Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles Conejo, and Mayor of Mexico City Miguel Ángel Mancera for their willingness, in coordination with the government, Vatican State and Mexican Bishopric authorities, to ensure that the various events during the papal visit take place as scheduled.   

The meeting was also attended by Minister of the Interior Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong; Foreign Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu; Minister of National Defense General Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda; Minister of the Navy Admiral Vidal Francisco Soberón Sanz and Minister of Finance Luis Videgaray Caso. 

National Security Commissioner Renato Sales Heredia; Head of the President’s Office Francisco Guzmán Ortiz; General Roberto Francisco Miranda Moreno, Head of the Presidential Staff ; Erwin Lino Zárate, Private Secretary to the President; Eduardo Sánchez Hernández, Government spokesman and General Coordinator of Social Communication of the Presidency; Andrés Massieu Fernández, General Coordinator of Politics and Government of the President's Office; Roque Villanueva, Undersecretary of Population, Migration and Religious Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior; Ambassador Carlos de Icaza González, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs; Roberto Herrera Mena, Deputy Director General of Liaisons with Civil Organizations of the President’s Office; Gumaro Cabrera Osornio, Deputy Chief of Logistics of the Presidential Staff and Jorge Cornoa Méndez, Assistant Secretary to the President were also in attendance.
