·        He hoped that 2016 will be a year, “That will enable us to advance, keep walking forward, continue to grow and achieve our goals, and one in which in every Mexican family, the efforts made in the past will enable them to continue to grow as families, as a community, as towns and as a nation towards a better country, in favor of a better Mexico.”

President Enrique Peña Nieto announced today that in the first three years of this administration, the government has invested nearly 20 billion pesos in expanding, building or modernizing 500 hospital units and more than 2,700 outpatient areas nationwide, in addition to the investments states have made in this area.

During his inauguration of Chiconcuac Community Hospital, and the State Center for Rehabilitation and Special Education in Toluca and the Center for the Visually Impaired in Naucalpan, the president declared that, “The government of the Republic has a permanent, unwavering commitment to Mexicans’ health.”

“It's a commitment that we are fulfilling every day in the effort, investment and infrastructure we are developing in the area of health, for the benefit of all Mexican families,” he said.

President Peña Nieto hoped that 2016, “Will be a year, ‘That will enable us to advance, keep walking forward, continue to grow and achieve our goals, and one in which in every Mexican family, the efforts made in the past will enable them to continue to grow as families, as a community, as towns and as a nation towards a better country, in favor of a better Mexico.”

The president said: “The first thing we want is health. Let this be a year full of health, achievements and accomplishments, which is why I am devoting the first public events of the year to the theme of health in our country, because we want Mexicans to fare well in a key area: to enjoy full health, and as Mexicans, to have optimal conditions to achieve their dreams and goals they have set for this year.”

He said that ensuring that Mexicans have good health requires two basic conditions: on the one hand, “The infrastructure we are constructing and developing, which is growing across the country; and secondly, the personal habits of every citizen, of every Mexican, habits that commit them to their health, from their diet, to engaging in some form of exercise on a regular basis in order to enjoy perfect health.”

The president declared that the works inaugurated today endorse, “The government’s commitment to ensuring that in the future, we continue advancing the construction of more infrastructure and more and better health services in the next few years to ensure what we wish for every new year: health for the population.”

He noted that through its positive, proactive attitude, “The government is building on the efforts made in different states. In all of them, we join forces and resources to achieve the construction of more infrastructure, expand care and take medical services to more places over the country to ensure effective access to health services.”

He said that, The point is not only to include the population in the list of Popular Insurance or health service beneficiaries, but for access to be effective and real, and for hospital infrastructure  and medical care to be close, or fairly close to where people live.”

THE BARRANCA DE HUEYETLACO ROAD IS SOMETHING PEOPLE HAVE WANTED FOR A LONG TIME.

After this event, the president went to the municipality of Huixquilucan to inaugurate the Barranca de Hueyetlaco road, which, “Will link the municipality of Huixquilucan to Mexico City. It is a densely populated area where the development of new road infrastructure is crucial.”

He noted that this is a public work people have wanted for several years, in which, “Beyond the investment being made of nearly 300 million pesos, what it means and reflects is the agreement of wills, the convergence of the political will to undertake such an essential, necessary task for two states in our country: the Federal District and the State of Mexico.”

He therefore acknowledged, “The political will of the government led by Eruviel Avila and the government led by Miguel Mancera in Mexico City, two wills that combine and have resulted in the public work we will shortly be inaugurating.”
