President Enrique Peña Nieto conducted a working trip to Turkey and the Philippines that allowed him to participate in the G20 Leaders’ Summit, pay a state visit to the Philippines and attend the 23th Asia - Pacific Economic Cooperation ( APEC) Meeting. • Within the G20 summit, terrorism was strongly condemned and broad solidarity was expressed with the people of France and other countries that have been the target of terrorist attacks.

• President Enrique Peña Nieto held bilateral meetings with Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada; Xi Jinping, President of China, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey; and Malcolm Turnbull, Prime Minister of Australia.

• The State Visit to the Philippines is the first Mexico has made for over 50 years and the only state visit hosted by the Philippines within the framework of the 23rd Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting.

• During the 23rd APEC Meeting, there was an opportunity for a dialogue between member countries of the Pacific Alliance and APEC for the first time ever.

Mexico is a country that is not isolated from the world, but a global actor that participates and is part of various international forums, it projects a strong, modern image and it is very clear that in order to ensure development within and for society it is necessary to build relations with the nations of the world.
