50 billion pesos will be invested in National Educational Infrastructure Certificates (CIEN) to improve schools across the country.

The 100% Schools is a government program to ensure that educational institutions are of the standard our children deserve.

This program, announced by President Enrique Peña Nieto in his Third State of the Union Address, will be the largest investment in educational infrastructure to date.

50 billion pesos will be invested in National Educational Infrastructure Certificates (CIEN) to improve schools across the country. The first bonds were issued on December 4, 2015, for a sum of over 8.5 billion pesos on the Mexican Stock Exchange.

During the next three years:

·        Support will be provided to 33,000 schools in 2011 municipalities in the country.

·        This will benefit 5.2 million students, 1 in 3 of which will belong to indigenous communities.

·        Before the end of 2015, resources will be assigned to 2,483 schools and to 13,900 in 2016.
