During the meeting, they discussed the negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and Turkey and said that they are advancing to the satisfaction of both nations.

They both expressed their interest in continuing to consolidate deep, multidimensional relations between the two nations, trade between which totalled $888 million USD in 2014.

During his visit to Mexico last February, the President of Turkey said that both countries set the common challenge of increasing bilateral trade to five billion USD.

President Peña Nieto congratulated President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his leadership at the G20 and the organization of the Leaders’ Summit held in this city.
