The National Digital Strategy was acknowledged during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS +10) being  held in New York.

The award was received for being the best Digital Agenda practice aligned with meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.

It was also acknowledged for being a leader in South-South Cooperation Initiatives as a result of chairing the eLAC mechanism for monitoring the digital agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as its participation in the e-Government Network for Latin America and the Caribbean (gLAC).

Mexico assumes this international leadership with the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals, Open Data and regional cooperation mechanisms.

During the first day of activities of the High Level Meeting of the UN General Assembly, Mexico presented its progress in implementing the lines of action of the World Summit on the Information Society and Knowledge.
