President Enrique Peña Nieto welcomed President of Panama Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez, currently on an official visit.
This is the first official visit by President Juan Carlos Varela, who has visited Mexico three times during his administration.
Panama is a regional hub which Mexico leverages to strengthen the presence of its products and services in the region.
The Panamanian president will attend a private meeting with President Enrique Peña Nieto and another with the respective delegations to review the extensive bilateral agenda.
Key issues include: migration, security, economic projects and cooperation.
