• Cuba is Mexico’s third largest trading partner in the Caribbean. In 2014, trade totaled $374 million USD.

• Since the reopening of the ProMéxico Commercial Office in May 2014, there has been an increase in trade and a marked interest by Mexican companies in trading and investing in Cuba.

• With the new Foreign Investment Law and the announcement of a portfolio of key projects, Mexican firms are seeking to take advantage of these opportunities for investment and to have a presence on the island to deal with the competition that will undoubtedly come from firms from other countries.

• In May 2014, a Business Mission was sent to Cuba, with 68 Mexican businessmen representing 48 companies.
