President Enrique Peña Nieto received Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipilä earlier today.
The leaders highlighted the excellent state of bilateral political dialogue and the importance of President Sauli Niinistö’s state visit to Mexico in May 2015 to give a renewed impetus to the ties between Mexico and Finland.
That visit triggered a significant increase in visits in both directions by entrepreneurs, researchers, parliamentarians, academics and senior officials from various sectors.
The Mexican president underlined his government's desire to continue working with Finland to increase economic exchanges and strengthen educational, scientific and training cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Operations.
Prime Minister Sipilä highlighted his government’s interest in leveraging the opportunities for collaboration derived from the structural reforms, particularly in telecommunications.
