President Enrique Peña Nieto inaugurated the 25th Ordinary General Assembly of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions.

In Mexico, the Superior Audit of the Federation plays a particularly important role as the country’s oversight agency.

Thanks to the reforms undertaken, the ASF’s capacities have been expanded so that now, in addition to auditing and overseeing federal resources, it is able to intervene in the same way in the federal resources assigned to the states.

Moreover, the ASF is able to act in real time without having to wait for previous accountability past and instead monitor the actions that so require in the present.

Among the reforms that strengthen democratic institutions in the country, Mexico also has a  Transparency System and a National Anti-Corruption System.

The new paradigm of transparency will significantly contribute to establishing new models of accountability in our society.
