As part of the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, President Enrique Peña Nieto met with first peoples, in the Otomi Ceremonial Center in Temoaya, State of Mexico, where he told them of the government’s commitment to work for their development and rights.

For example, efforts will be made in indigenous communities that still lack potable water, sewage and electricity to ensure that they have these services before the end of the administration.

Currently 1.5 million families receive the support of Prospera and the National Crusade against Hunger, which supports 406 indigenous municipalities.

Through actions such as these, Mexico supports its first peoples.
