As part of the Global Summit of the Open Government Partnership Mexico 2015, today, Civil Society Organizations from around the world have gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the global open government agenda. It is an informal space where the focus will be on strengthening national processes for Open Government Partnership (OGP).

The OGP is a multilateral initiative founded in 2011 that provides a platform that seeks to improve government performance through the implementation of the principles of transparency, accountability, citizen participation and innovation. It currently comprises 66 member countries that have used this platform for over 2000 open government commitments.

The OGP Global Summit Mexico 2015 will be held in Mexico City on October 28 and 29 and focus on how the principles of open government can promote the achievement of the objectives of the Post 2015 Development Agenda.
