The government has a strong commitment to the welfare and progress of the 40 million Mexicans aged 17 or less.

During the installation of the National System of Integral Protection for Children and Adolescents, President Enrique Peña Nieto announced the new starting point, “For our children to live in a better country”:

·        The National Program for the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents will be developed.

·        A National Information System on Children and Adolescents will be created in order to have the first broad, systematic, reliable database to assess public policies devoted to the development of this important demographic group.

·        There will be full coordination between the National System of Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents and other government and national systems.

·        A package of initiatives will be submitted to amend various laws, in order to bring them into line with the highest international standards of the General Law on the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

With these priorities for 2016, our country is advancing the cause of its children and adolescents.
