It is an extremely dangerous hurricane, the strongest in the past 50 years.
A State of Extraordinary Emergency was declared in Colima, Jalisco and Nayarit.
Between now and Saturday, the hurricane is expected to accumulate rainfall totals of 150 to 300 mm, with peaks of 500 mm in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima and Michoacán and 200 mm in Guerrero.
The National Water Commission (CONAGUA) and the National Meteorological Service (SMN) exhort the population to obey the instructions issued by the Civil Protection Department and state and municipal authorities, in addition to keeping informed of meteorological conditions through the following Twitter accounts:
