This is the first time in the history of our country that a proposal of this magnitude has been submitted to overcome the lags in the south of Mexico.
Where will this system be launched?
Due to their geographical and logistic characteristics and regional impact, the first three proposed SEZs are:
1.- The Inter-Oceanic Industrial Corridor in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec that will link the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.
This zone will promote the creation of the Transoceanic gas pipeline from Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz to Salina Cruz in Oaxaca.
The government will promote the rehabilitation of the Isthmus Railway, a stretch that has historically been extremely valuable to the productive development of this region.
The Trans-Isthmus Highway will also be promoted to support this connectivity.
2. Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas and neighboring municipalities
Work will be undertaken to improve the infrastructure, equipment and modernization of Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas in Michoacán.
The neighboring towns of the Costa Grande de Guerrero also will benefit from the planned investment and expansion of Lázaro Cárdenas.
3.- Puerto Chiapas
Its importance lies in the fact that it will trigger development in the border state of Chiapas.
The Salina Cruz-Puerto Chiapas-Guatemala pipeline whereby Puerto Chiapas will accompany the momentum generated by the Tran isthmus Corridor will be promoted.
